Minivator Limited has always sold to trade and local authorities, not to the end user. This strategy remains unchanged as Minivator has no direct sales force. However, whilst they continue to believe that the Mobility Dealer plays a vital role in the provision of aids to daily living, some individuals will prefer to approach direct sales companies who sell ‘off the page.' The unfortunate fact is that a number of direct sell companies have acted in an unethical manner using high pressure sales tactics in the home.

The Companion Team first approached Minivator with a proposal requiring support for their venture to offer a direct sell service that was operated under stringent professional controls. Minivator took the opportunity to be involved with this venture to support the efforts that were being made to protect vulnerable people who preferred this method of buying stairlifts.

Companion's efforts were rewarded and the company continued to grow, ultimately becoming part of the Minivator Group when it was established in August 2004.

Companion's ethical stance has also been recognised by the market as Help The Aged has chosen them to administer their stair lift sales scheme which has resulted in over £500,000 being donated to Help The Aged.

Based in Guisley, Yorkshire Companion operates as an independent member of Minivator Group.
