Launching Careers - The Minivator Engineer Apprentice Scheme

The Minivator Apprentice Scheme began in 2007 and is designed to offer young candidates a framework of education combined with on-the-job training. This provides them the confidence and skills to graduate and hopefully gain a permanent role within the company.

Discovering a Future

Minivator recruit candidates under 19, with training that combines many elements, incorporating days at college, on-the-job training, technical training and a wide range of key skills.

After two years of training they will achieve their NVQ level 2, they then progress to a junior engineer position. Following this and to support our growing team we aim to take on all our apprentices if positions are available.

Home Grown Talent

Minivator currently have an 68 strong and rapidly growing team of field service engineers nationally, along with these we now have 16 apprentices in training and of these 4 having already graduated to be full time engineers. Minivator pride themselves on locally recruited apprentices from up and down the country. This in turn boosts local community's economies and provides much needed jobs and skills for many.

Securing Success

The apprentice scheme provides apprentices and young engineers with thorough knowledge of the product and service that is expected from a Minivator engineer. From the beginning they recognise the importance of their role at Minivator and are developed as individuals that bring something extra to the service we provide. A combination of on and off job training ensures they learn skills that will work best for Minivator, understanding our processes and standards entirely. This in turn gives the apprentice the chance to absorb themselves in the culture and ethos of the business from early stage; delivering high standards from the word go. Resulting in a better quality of service for Minivator customers and reinforces the confidence, capability and communication skills of the apprentices.
